Our 3B Mobile Boom (commonly known as Mobile Cherry Picker) course focuses on Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) which can move both vertically and horizontally. Unlike the 1B category these mobile booms are self-propelled/mobile and can often be used whilst elevated. There are a great variety of MEWPs within this category including both telescopic and articulated elevation mechanisms. These machines can be powered through a variety of different means – enabling the operator freedom to work both indoors and outdoors depending on the power source.

An overview of the different types of MEWPs.
How to inspect and test functions before using a MEWP.
How to safely operate a MEWP and understand its limitations.
How to plan a route and check your environment before operating a MEWP.
How to safely manoeuvre a MEWP whilst at height.
How to prepare a MEWP for work
Complete theory test
A practical session – the basics of safe operation.
Practical comprehension testing
How to safely use fall arrest equipment

Delegate requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
