Forklift
- Duration: Between 1-5 Days (dependent on experience)
- Valid: 3 Years
We have a range of courses available dependent on the delegates’ experience & all courses will include theory and practical sessions with related assessments.
Novice – suitable for delegates who have no previous experience operating material handling equipment or forklifts.
Conversion – suitable for delegates who have previous experience operating a particular type of material handling equipment and need to extend their knowledge on how to safely operate a forklift truck.
Semi-experienced/untested – Suitable for delegates who are experienced operating forklift trucks and material handling equipment but have no formal training. This course is also suitable for those who completed formal training a long time ago and their license has now lapsed.
Refresher – Suitable for delegates whose license is about to expire.
An overview of what to expect on the course (course content will vary dependent on experience):
Introduction to forklift trucks including structural parts, controls, and instruments.
Safety regulations
How to inspect/check a forklift before using
How to safely operate a forklift truck; starting/stopping and steering.
How to safely refuel/re-charge.
How to assess weight distribution and handling pallets.
Upon successful completion delegates will receive official certification.
Loading and unloading
How to safely operate a forklift in confined spaces.
How to safely drive on and off ramps.
Industrial packing & stacking.
Forklift truck stability.
Theory & practical assessments.
Delegate requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be medically fit to safely operate equipment.
