Quick Reach launch wellbeing initiative – Quick Spirit

quick spirit launch

Last month (March ’22) we launched ‘Quick Spirit’ – a feel-good initiative to celebrate our team and inspire positivity whilst at work.

After the heart-breaking loss of John Barton, brother of David Barton & co-founder of Quick Reach and the subsequent COVID-19 crisis, our appreciation for positive mental & physical health has only grown.

We want to create a movement within our business which not only helps improve our team’s health and wellbeing but also highlights John’s memory.  John inspired and cared about his business and everyone within it; he was a true champion of team spirit.  Quick Spirit will celebrate his legacy by proactively investing in the development, health, and happiness of our people.

Partnership with Spirited Performance & Nutrition

A big part of the Quick Spirit initiative is our brand-new partnership with SPN (Spirited Performance & Nutrition).  Founded by Lee Perry, SPN was formed around the idea of helping people reach their potential and succeeding in ways they never thought possible.

Lee and his team will be supporting individuals in our team who want to create healthier and happier lives.  As a fully qualified PT and nutritional advisor Lee will be available for 1-1 sessions with anyone in our team – whether they are wanting to kickstart their own health journey or who want to level-up their fitness further. He will be hosting weekly ‘Lunch & Learn’ group calls on various topics related to health/fitness as well as providing plenty of resources for our team to access inside or outside of work.

“It’s a real privilege for SPN to be invited to join the Quick Spirit team and be part of helping people at Quick Reach to improve their health, their energy and ultimately their happiness. It’s so refreshing to work with a company the genuinely puts so much value into their team, and I have no doubt that so many people are really going to feel the benefit of this amazing initiative, and with it being done in honour of John, makes it incredibly special.” Lee Perry

As the original founder of MITIE Powered Access in the late 1990’s, which then became The Platform Company (TPC) in 2002 – Lee is no stranger to the powered access industry.  He understands the stresses and time-constraints our team face on a day-to-day basis, and we believe there is no on better to support us on this exciting journey.

Eccles – Kyiv Challenge

We kickstarted Quick Spirit last month with an ambitious step challenge; to collectively walk the distance from our head office in Eccles to Kyiv (3,619,355 steps) in 10 days to raise money for Disaster Emergency Committee’s Humanitarian Ukraine Appeal.

With over half our team (37 people) agreeing to take on this challenge we danced, sprinted, and jigged around our 7 locations to smash our step target and raise an incredible £2500 in the process for Ukraine.  It was a true team effort and our group cheered each other on every step of the way.  A huge thank you to all our family, friends, suppliers, and customers who donated!

Future Events

Each month we are organising social events and/or challenges for anyone in our team who wants to get involved.  We realise our industry can be quite hectic at times, and we hope these events will further unite our depots and departments as well as encouraging more laughter and fun at work!

We have a lot lined up for the year already and we’re looking forward to sharing our future Quick Spirit endeavours with you all. Lee Perry will also be on hand to help train our team for future Quick Spirit challenges.

Monday Treats

From fruit baskets to brownies, we now deliver treats to each of our depots every Monday for our team to enjoy.  It’s great to have something to look forward to at the start of each week!
